DATA PRIVACY NOTICE
Introduction
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) values the confidentiality of personal data. This notice details how PGLU uses and protect personal data for the purpose of obtaining consent of its clients in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and other relevant laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
As clients of PGLU, you are considered users of our service and that you consent to the processing of your personal information in accordance with this notice.
A. Personal Data
Under Section 3(g) Republic Act No. 10173, known as the “Data Privacy Act of 2012”, personal information shall refer to;
“any information, whether recorded in a material form or not, from which the identity of an individual is apparent or can be reasonably and directly ascertained by the entity holding the information, or when put together with other information would directly and certainly identify an individual.”
Under Section 11 of R.A. 10173, the processing of personal information shall be allowed, subject to compliance with the requirements of R.A. 10173 and other laws allowing the disclosure of information to the public and adherence to the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality.
Under Section 3(j), processing shall include the collection, recording, organization, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, consultation, use, consolidation, blocking, erasure, or destruction of the data.
B. Data Collection
PGLU collects, uses processes, stores and retains personal data in order to perform its business processes effectively and efficiently and in accordance with its existing rules and procedures.
In particular, we will collect your data so you could electronically schedule an appointment to the different PGLU offices and avail of their services in a more convenient way.
When using the system, PGLU shall collected the following personal data:
- Complete Name
- Address
- Contact Number
- eMail Address
- Agency
C. Data Control and Limitation
You as our client are primarily responsible for ensuring that all personal data submitted are accurate, complete and up-to-date. There maybe instances that PGLU shall be requesting you for updated data and we ask for your cooperation to provide the same.
D. Data Sharing and Security
As a general rule, PGLU does not and will not share personal data to ensure the safety and security of your personal information except as necessary for the proper execution of processes related to declared purpose, or the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary, required or authorized under the law.
However, keep in mind that no method of transmission over the internet will guarantee full security. Nevertheless, we have implemented technical procedures like use of secured servers and firewalls to restrict access to the data we collect. While we use such strategy to protect and secure your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
E. Data Retention and Storage
Date collected are stored in our on premise serves with regular back-up to our off-site servers and will be kept for as long as necessary for the sole purpose of availing the services of the offices of PGLU. However, you as our clients may request your personal data to be deleted from our database and hard copies within a reasonable requested date.
F. Data Logs
Whenever you visit our Online Booking and Scheduling System, we collect information that your browser sends. This data logs may include data like your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages that you visit, the date and time of your visit and other statistics related to your site visits.
G. Amendments
PGLU reserves the right to update and modify this Privacy Policy at any time and such revisions shall be posted immediately to this site.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. Introduction
There terms and conditions shall govern your use of our Online Booking and Scheduling System. By using the system, you accept our terms and conditions in full, otherwise, you must not use our website.
The system reserves slots for clients on a first-come first-served basis. Abusive users like multiple booking shall be marked as red flag for future appointments using the PGLU Online Booking and Scheduling System.
By accessing or using the system, you agree and accept the responsibility of ensuring the completeness and accuracy of your personal data.
B. Content
Our systems allow you to book or schedule an appointment to avail of the services of PGLU. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure the completeness and accuracy of your personal data.
For the purpose of managing the system, personal data submitted will be utilized by PGLU authorized personnel. PGLU will perform regular routine backup of data. However, you are sole responsible for all data you submit or that relates to any activity you have undertaken using the system.
Nevertheless, we will not disclose any personal data obtained in the usage of the system except as provided herein. We guarantee that data that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will be disclosed only with your permission or as required by law.
Moreover, by using the site, you agree not to:
- systematically retrieve data or other content from this site without written permission from us;
- collect email addresses of clients for the purpose of sending unsolicited emails or creating accounts outside of this site;
- reverse engineer any part of the application for your personal gains; and
- use the site in a manner inconsistent with any applicable laws or regulations.
